Goal Deprivation

By Asa Leveaux

Hello Genius!
First, let me just say thank you for taking the time to invest in yourself and I allowing this blog post to be a resource in your life. A life where you want to be successful to the point that you are oblivious to everything else. I call this "Blissful Success". I always wanted that kind of life but didn't do the necessary steps to ensure its realization.
I had to take action. In actuality, taking action is the number one step to getting everything you want. The type of action that I took was to begin to set goals. Oh, I had goals before this point but there were some factors to the goals that I needed to implement to ensure I would be able to live a life I fantasized about regularly.
1. Write them down: It doesn't do much for you if all of your goals are swimming around in your mind like a sequel to "Finding Nemo". As long as the goals are still in your head rather than being on paper, they are just wishful thoughts.
2. Make them measurable: There is a saying that goes, "what doesn't get measured, doesn't get done", and I am a firm believer. So let's just say that you want to be successful and you write that down. Ok, now what? How do you know that you are successful? What is the point in which you know you have met the mark?
3. Be accountable: Yes, you the genius should definitely be accountable to someone other than yourself. To do this you will first need to open your mouth and share your new goals with someone. I would ask you to consider telling someone that has your best interest at heart but also doesn't mind risking getting your shit to tell you when you haven't stayed on course.
4. Add a timeline: It serves you better when you have a deadline to meet. If you are new to business and write down that you want to have 500 business cards that represents your physical fitness company and you tell someone to keep you accountable without a date then it runs the risk of just staying on the list in perpetuity. Add a date to your destiny!
I have personally written down 101 goals to stretch myself. The first 25 were fairly easy and it took two more hours to conceive the rest of the goals. I believe in your capacity to do this as well. After all, YOU ARE A GENIUS!
